- Dr. Roger Gramling ’71 entered ordained ministry in The United Methodist Church in South Carolina at the beginning of the most important racial merger in the denomination’s history, and he retired on the threshold of the most significant fracturing of the denomination in South Carolina and beyond. His latest book, 鈥淩ecollections – Stories From My Life in the Ministry,鈥 has been published by the Advocate Press, Columbia, SC, and is available on .
- Blake Martin 鈥08, 鈥15 MHA has been named President of Monarch, a leading provider of behavioral health services in North Carolina and Rhode Island. Martin brings extensive experience in healthcare administration, operational oversight, and fiscal management. He most recently served as Monarch鈥檚 Chief Strategy Officer, where he led the development and implementation of a new five-year strategic plan. Established in 1958, Monarch provides support to thousands of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.

- Roger Gore 鈥03 MBA continues toward his goal of playing 50 pickleball tournaments to promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig鈥檚 disease. He currently stands at 15 tournaments, 33 different tournament brackets, and 17 medals. In 2023, he played in the USA Pickleball National Championship Tournament for the 2nd year in a row and, hoping to win a national medal this year, has qualified to play in the 2024 tournament in November.

- Jerry Shelby 鈥90 MBA received many accolades in 2023 for volunteer work to help his fellow citizens navigate life鈥檚 challenges. He was recognized for assisting 2,000 clients with Medicare and Social Security, during 15 years of service with SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program). He has advocated for senior citizen concerns through the NC Senior Tar Heel Legislature and taught driver safety classes through NC AARP, for 20 years. He is also the longest serving volunteer for the Centralina Area Agency on Aging (20 years), Salisbury/Rowan AARP Chapter (23 years), the Salisbury Senior Center (23 years), and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (10 years).
