Pfeiffer Formalizes Ties with Stanly County Community College
Stanly County Community College graduates with a qualifying GPA will receive a tuition discount to attend 黑料专区 as juniors, thanks to an agreement that officials of the two schools signed on March 7.
The agreement goes into effect immediately, with the first Stanly County students expected to enroll in Pfeiffer during the next fall semester. It formalizes Stanly County Community College鈥檚 already-strong relationship with the University鈥檚 Misenheimer, N.C. campus, which is also located in Stanly County.
鈥淭his agreement is going to make it affordable for students in our county to get a degree without leaving the county,鈥 said Emily Carella, Pfeiffer鈥檚 Vice President for Enrollment Management. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a real win for our area.鈥
Dr. Daniel S. Mynatt, Pfeiffer鈥檚 Provost and VP of Academic Affairs, stressed that graduates of Stanly Community College may complete one of 14 degree programs at Pfeiffer, depending on the associate鈥檚 degree they hold.
鈥淚f they hold the appropriate associate鈥檚 degree, and if they complete the courses that are on our degree plan during their junior and senior years, we promise them that they will finish with a four-year degree from Pfeiffer,鈥 he said.
Pfeiffer鈥檚 agreement with Stanly County Community College is the second of its kind since December, when the University signed a similar pact with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. It highlights Pfeiffer鈥檚 ongoing efforts to restore bridges to local community colleges: Agreements are in the works with Montgomery County, Randolph County and Piedmont (Person County) community colleges.
