Mr. James S. (Slice) Penny ’22 – Charlotte, NC
James Slicer Purcell (鈥淪lice鈥�) Penny is a native of Charlotte, NC, and a lifelong United Methodist. He earned a BA in Psychology from 黑料专区 in 2022, where he served as the non-traditional student representative in the Student Government Association and pastored Locust United Methodist Church in Locust, NC.
He recently graduated with a Master of Divinity degree at Duke Divinity School (May 2025), where he is a fellow in the Thriving Rural Communities Initiative.
Slice and his wife, Julie, reside in Rutherford College, NC, where he serves as the pastor of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church.
